Integrated Living is a full basement renovation that reflects the everyday coexistence of three essential functions within a single, thoughtfully designed space: living, working, and training. This project involved a full basement renovation, transforming the space into a highly functional and refined environment that balances comfort, wellness, and contemporary design. The overall approach focused on maximizing natural light, creating a bright and sophisticated atmosphere that redefines the traditional perception of a basement. The layout was thoughtfully reconfigured to support multiple uses, including a welcoming lounge area, a functional home office, and a fully equipped gym. Each zone was designed to coexist seamlessly, allowing the space to feel open, cohesive, and adaptable to daily life. Material selection played a key role in the project, featuring high-performance flooring, neutral finishes, and clean architectural lines that enhance visual continuity while ensuring long-term durability. Carefully planned lighting—combining natural daylight with strategically placed artificial fixtures—adds depth, subtle drama, and visual comfort throughout the space. Decorative elements were curated entirely by the homeowners, and we were especially delighted by their collection of African and South American masks displayed along the walls. These pieces introduce a distinctive cultural layer and personal character, complementing the architecture while reinforcing the uniqueness of the project. The result is a modern, versatile basement that feels like a natural extension of the home—designed to support living, working, and training with both practicality and elevated design.
